Arriving in Melbourne

When arriving in Melbourne, passengers must proceed to the Entry Control Point. You will need to have the following documents ready:

  1. Passport
  2. Completed Incoming Passenger Card

Once processed, you may proceed to baggage reclaim to collect your bags.

Anything to declare?

After collecting your baggage, proceed to the exiting point where your Incoming Passenger Card will be checked by an officer prior to passing through Customs and the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service.

What to declare

Don't forget to declare any necessary items, as there are severe penalties for failing to declare articles that are prohibited, restricted or for which you are required to pay duty/sales tax.

Payment of duty and/or tax can be made in cash, travellers cheques ($A) and by all major credit cards.

Cash amounts of $A10,000 or more needs to be reported on arrival to Customs officers (excluding travellers cheques).

Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS)

It is important to remember that if you have any animal or plant item with you, or packed in your luggage, you must declare it on your Incoming Passenger Card. Please note that unaccompanied baggage may attract inspection charges.

Meeting Point

The Meeting Point is a clearly marked area to meet and greet passengers upon arrival. It is located next to the Groups and Tours desk at the southern end of T2 Arrivals. A large red sign clearly denotes the area.
